I've been forgetting to mention that the last assistant that I had when I was in San Antonio Texas texted me last week. In the text she'd sent me last week she'd told me that she'd sent Texas's Library for the Blind equipment to them soon. However I haven't heard anything from her since she'd sent me that text message last week. Ugh, so frustrating! There's a game I've played for close to a year now that I think all blind people should be aware of if they are not aware of it already. The game is called Timecrest and it's fully accessible to totally blind people. It's a text-based game which means that the game's text is spoken aloud by VoiceOver. There are different choices within the game that a person can select by using VO as well. Based on how the person chooses the options that are in Timecrest, depends on how the story within the game progresses. I've played TimeCrest one and two so much though that I'm really itching for Timecrest three to be released. Like, really, really itching for Timecrest three to be released. Other than Timecrest and A Blind Legend games that are currently on my iPhone I don't play any other games. At least not at this time. So hopefully Timecrest three gets released soon and I can have a new game to play (sort of) that I haven't played yet. Shortly after I'd written my last blog entry on Saturday a friend and I continued to look for an apartment for me to rent. Said friend of mine found an apartment on Craigslist that had a price that appeared to be within my budget. So I wrote down that particular apartment complex's phone number on my phone. Shortly after I'd written down that particular apartment complex's number on my phone I sent a DM to Samsung. In the DM that I'd sent that particular company I angrily asked that particular company what the deal was regarding why I've yet to see the refund I'd been promised Samsung would give me in October 2017. yesterday morning when I got up I called the apartment complex number that I'd written down in my phone the previous day. The lady I spoke with was not friendly, especially when I'd told her that I'd found the particular apartment listing I was calling about, on Craigslist. She said something like "Well you probably know that Craigslist is not the best place to look for apartments." I told her that I did know that but that's why I called that particular apartment complex: because you just never know what may be legitimate. I then asked her about low-income housing and she said that that particular apartment complex doesn't have any low-income housing apartments. The lady I spoke with then told me that the cheapest apartment that's for rent at that particular apartment complex is over $1000. Needless to say that was the end of that conversation. Shortly after I'd gotten off the phone with the lady from that particular apartment complex I read a DM on Twitter from Samsung. In the DM that someone from Samsung had sent me the person repeated for the 2000th time that Samsung had sent my refund to me in San Antonio Texas in October of last year. So I immediately replied to said DM from Samsung saying that I'd been through the same thing with this particular company time and time again: I'd never received anything in the mail from Samsung when I lived in San Antonio Texas. I of course checked my mail every day at that time and I'm positive that Samsung never sent me a damn thing. In the same DM that I'd sent to Samsung I also told that particular company that I'd updated my address with that particular company and that several people from that company had made sure that the information that was on file for me was correct. A little while after I'd sent that DM to Samsung on Twitter a friend of mine called a real estate agent he'd found online on the off-chance that he or she may help me look for an apartment. The real estate agent that my friend spoke with was nice. Out of frustration of not being able to find a place for me to rent, my friend told the real estate agent he spoke with that he and I are both blind and we were running into lots of trouble finding an apartment for me that was within my budget. The real estate agent he spoke with then gave him a phone number to call the next day. According to this real estate agent, the phone number she'd given my friend would allow him and I to talk to leasing agents who may be able to help find me an apartment to rent that's within my budget. A little while after my friend had finished talking to the real estate agent I had a sighted acquaintance of mine who lives in this state look over the female roommate wanted ad that I'd written to make sure that the female roommate wanted ad stood out visually. Fortunately my acquaintance made my female roommate wanted ad stand out. Said acquaintance then told me that I should have the female roommate wanted ad taken to student services at the college I'm going to be attending because student services at said college needs to approve what I've written before it's actually posted anywhere at said school. Just as a refresher though what I wrote in the female roommate wanted ad reads as follows: "My name is Chelsea and I'm looking for a female roommate to share an apartment with. I attend (name of college) and I'm in my 30s. I do not drink or smoke and I want my female roommate to share in those values. If you are interested in sharing an apartment with me please contact me at (school email address)." A little while later a friend and I looked online at more possibilities for me to rent a room from someone. We unsurprisingly ran into at least a couple more people who were skeptical about me because I was open with him or her about my disabilities. This particular experience has taught me a lot though: my disabilities are not at all relevant to paying someone money for a place to stay. So in the future I'm not even going to tell people about the fact that I have disabilities. Although one cool thing my friend found when he was looking online for a possible place for me to stay, he found a female who apparently owns a studio that's attached to the house that she lives in. He talked to her through text messages for a bit then he arranged for him and I to go visit her place on Wednesday evening. So unless a better opportunity comes along before then my friend and I are at least going to take a look at this woman's place. An hour or so after my friend had finished texting back and forth with the lady who has a studio outside of her house my friend and I ate Subway. While I was in the middle of eating though the tooth that I'd recently said hurt like hell, fell out. All on its own. The fact that that tooth fell out wasn't surprising to me because when I'd last seen the dentists in San Antonio Texas they'd told me that either that particular tooth would fall out on its own or just keep hurting me until I had some more dental work done on it. Hopefully though toothaches are done bothering me for a long time now. When I got up this morning I contacted the phone number that the lady I'd spoken with about getting help finding an apartment for myself suggested I call. Unfortunately though the guy I spoke with said that he couldn't do anything to help me find an apartment because all of the apartments that he knew of were all rented out. So I hit another dead-end. Not surprising but definitely incredibly frustrating. So a little while after I'd gotten off the phone with the guy I was told may have been able to help me find an apartment I verified with a friend of mine that he'd emailed himself the version of the female roommate wanted ad that I'd written that an acquaintance had helped me make look pretty. Shortly after I'd talked to my friend about the fact he was going to post my female roommate wanted ad at the college today I received a DM from Samsung on Twitter. In the DM that Samsung had sent me the person told me that he'd looked at that particular company's records and seen that a charging pad was indeed delivered to me in October 2017. I still call bullshit on that argument. I'll never think any differently about what really happened with this particular situation. In the same DM the person from Samsung had sent me though the person also told me that Samsung was going to send me a replacement charging pad at the address that's currently on file for me. In the same DM from Samsung the person also told me that if I didn't receive said charging pad by early next week then I should follow up with him to let him know I hadn't received it. I really fucking hope that Samsung is telling the truth this time, not just because it would be great to have a working wireless charger but because I want to be able to put this situation behind me for good. Shortly after I'd read the last DM that Samsung had sent me on Twitter I sent a DM to GettingHired because I wanted to know what the status was of my request to have that particular agency cancel my account. In other news it's interesting how when I started this blog I had one idea for the posts that I'd write in it. Then pretty quickly this blog became a great place for me to just do what I call "my daily dump" which is just me writing about whatever the hell I want to write about whenever the hell I want to write about it. Like, whatever is on my mind, chest or whatever other name a person wants to give it, that's what I write about. And in a way I think that's a lot better because I'm not boring people with one specific subject. I'm being myself, talking about whatever it is that I want to talk about. I'm unafraid to speak my mind on a wide variety of subjects and I'm not afraid to write about things when I'm experiencing anger, sadness or any other emotion that's negatively perceived by most of society. I think it's important to talk about all of those things honestly because the world needs openness and honesty rather than people avoiding subjects for any reason.
