Shortly after I'd written the last blog entry on Saturday a friend and I had an interesting conversation about hair. Because last December I had my hair cut much shorter than I've ever had my hair cut before. My hair was maybe a little past my ears at that time. The conversation I'd had with my friend on Saturday was about how my hair is growing longer. During his and my conversation I told him that I don't like the fact that my hair is getting longer because having long hair is so much harder for me to maintain. What I mean in saying that having long hair is harder for me to maintain is that my hair gets tangled easily and it doesn't matter how much or how thoroughly I brush it. So having it as short as I'd had it cut last December felt really awesome. Like, just knowing that I was getting rid of the hair that had split ends on it physically helped my body experience relief. When my friend checked the physical mail yesterday I'd received the application for this state's paratransit service. Fortunately my friend was able to get one of his neighbors to help me fill out said application that same night as well. My friend's neighbor was even nice enough to say he'd mail the application for me (in the envelope the application had been sent in there was another envelope that was already addressed to the paratransit company). So the paratransit company should receive my application within the next week. This morning I woke up early coughing like crazy. I couldn't stop coughing so I finally made myself get a cough drop to see if eating one of those would at least stop my cough so I could go back to sleep. Fortunately eating a cough drop allowed me to go back to sleep for a few more hours. Once I'd finally gotten up for good this morning though I received a call from Apple. When the Senior Advisor who'd been handling my case came on the line I asked her if she'd call me a little later because I didn't have access to the order number she'd requested from me last week. She said she'd call me a little while later. Once I'd gotten off the phone with her I checked Twitter to see whether San Antonio Texas's electric company had responded to the tweet I'd sent that particular company over the weekend. Fortunately San Antonio Texas's electric company did respond to the tweet I'd sent that particular company. In that particular company's response to my tweet someone said that he or she'd like me to send along my information in a DM. So I did just that: I gave that particular company my information. Once I'd taken care of that I looked at the emails that I'd exchanged with the first VRC I was put in contact with from this particular state. In the emails the first VRC had sent me he'd said that the VRC in the area where I'm currently staying worked in his office Mondays through Thursdays each week. So after I'd read that bit of information I called the VRC in the area where I'm currently staying. I left him a message because in his voicemail greeting he'd said that he wouldn't be in his office until the next day. A little while after I'd left him a message the Senior Advisor who'd been handling my case at Apple called me. I told her that I'd get her the order number right away. Once she'd gotten the order number from me she told me that she'd forward that particular number onto another department at Apple. She then informed me that she'd reached out to Apple's engineering team once again as well as Apple's Training Department again to let both groups of people know where we currently were in figuring out how to resolve the particular situation I'm in. Before the Senior Advisor and I'd gotten off the phone with one another I let her know that she could give my number to anyone she communicates with in case any of those people want to get a hold of me his or herself. She said she'd already gone ahead and done that. Then she asked if I'd be free for her and I to talk with one another about this case this coming Friday. I said I'm free to talk then and then I stressed the fact that if there were any new developments in this case before this coming Friday anyone from Apple could call me any time to talk about what those developments are. Shortly after I'd gotten off the phone with her my friend and I talked about the fact that I want to go back to college. He informed me that I'd need to first apply for a Board Of Governor (BOG) free waiver which I Googled a little while after he'd given me that bit of information. It turns out that the waiver he was talking about is actually called something different now so I read up on the steps I'd need to take in order to get things moving. I needed to first create an online account with the local community colleges in this state. Once I'd created an online account with the community colleges in this state I looked at the application that needed to be filled out for the waiver that my friend was talking about. It turned out that I'd need someone's help filling out some of this information because I literally don't know how to answer some of the questions that are on the application. Shortly after I'd looked into that application I checked Twitter to see whether San Antonio's electric company had gotten back with me yet. Fortunately someone from that particular company had replied to the DM I'd sent that particular company earlier in the day. The person who'd responded to my DM said that he or she'd found the records showing that I'd indeed contacted this particular company notifying them that I wanted my services to be cut off on February 1st. I then messaged that particular company to ask whether the person who'd responded to my DM had seen the fact that CPS Energy had recently charged me $54 then charged me $67. A little while later someone from CPS Energy in San Antonio replied to my DM saying that I should wait for that particular company's Billing Department to make the correct adjustments to the last bill that I'll have to pay that particular company. So that's what I'm going to do: more waiting. Ugh. LOL. Later I Googled "SSI" along with the state I'm in because I wanted to see if my insurance is going to go hand-in-hand with SSI the way my insurance went hand-in-hand with SSI when I was in San Antonio. It turns out that my insurance in the new state will operate the same way my old insurance operated which is a huge relief. A little while after I'd Googled information about how my insurance would be in the new state I checked Google to see whether there was an online application that I could fill out for the waiver that my friend had told me about. Unfortunately there wasn't an online application that I could fill out which was a bummer. So what I'll probably have to do is go to the college I want to attend and have someone who works at that college help me fill out financial assistance forms. I'm praying that the VRC in the area I'm currently in will support this new goal of mine. I don't see any reason why he wouldn't support my goal of going to school though because this particular state is big on education. Whereas the agency who helped blind people in San Antonio Texas was strictly geared towards helping people with disabilities find employment. That particular agency does nothing towards helping people with disabilities become more educated. That particular agency used to help people with disabilities find jobs as well as become more educated but within the last couple years that particular agency has totally changed the way things operate within the agency. Glad I'm not there anymore because I don't have to worry about that myself.
